Remote Working Made Easy

Welcome to part three in our latest series of daily posts, brought to you by the team behind Remote Working Helpdesk.

We have previously discussed the dos and don’ts of being a remote working micro-manager.

For now, we want to change the subject.

With more organizations than ever transitioning to a remote working model, several academic studies are being released on the subject.

In one such study, it was revealed that there are eight major skills needed in order to successfully work remotely.

Over the next few days, we will be exploring what these are and why they are needed.

Curiosity and Critical Thinking

Curiosity and Critical Thinking

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again.

The most important skill you can give to your workers is a sense of curiosity.

Some say that ignorance is the worst thing you can have, but I believe it to be a lack of curiosity.

Curious people are far more likely to try and solve their own problems before coming to a superior for help.

When you are working remotely, this is a huge asset.

It isn’t easy to get in contact with IT to answer all your tech-related questions (unless you subscribe to Remote Working Helpdesk, of course!).

You want to make sure your team is capable of thinking critically so they can address issues and know when to ask for assistance.

It will only strengthen your remote working IT security plan.

As we all learned over the past year, there will be times in our lives when we need to quickly adapt to a new situation.

You know that decisions about and inside of remote work are often made incredibly quickly.

This is why being highly adaptable is an important skill when remote working and data protection.

A virtual workspace is notorious for its quick pace.

Traditionally, meetings full of contemplation would be held before any decisions were made.

Now it is more likely that a quick notification you get on your phone could pivot your entire workflow.
